Anyone who knows me in the industry knows how much I love putting together a styled shoot, so one of my first projects on arriving back in Cape Town, was to work with some of my favorite industry creatives to produce Woven Elegance. A fabulous feature on Vivacious Wedding Blog is just an extra feel good.

Carmen from Two Cherries Events, is my go to girl in the planning stages of any styled shoot, she understands my crazy and generally just goes with it. Melissa, the other Cherry created a mood board of pretty and we gathered together an amazing team of creatives to pull this shoot together.

The inspiration was to create a striking balance between boho charm and modern elegance. We used a blend of boho inspirations which created beautiful textures and then added modern elements to bring them into contemporary styling.

The stationery suite from Secret Diary, was sleek and elegant and encompassed the look and feel of the shoot.

Smaller, more intimate weddings are trending, so we chose Rooftop on Bree to provide a modern blank canvas. At the same time, we loved the contrast of the sleek modern lines softened by the feathery feel of the pampas and the plushness of the velvet creating great textures and allowing the colors to pop.

Pampas grass has been hitting the wedding scene in a big way and it formed the basis of the floral design. Michele from New Vintage Events just blew us away with her mix of textures, shapes and use of colour in this shoot.

The dress used as inspiration on the mood board was a creation by the incredibly talented dress designer, Elbeth Gillis. It made perfect sense to partner with her and recreate the exact look we had envisioned. To give a modern take on the bridesmaids look we went for a white pantsuit with a sexy heel.

Who doesn’t love a good gin, so it made perfect sense to include a mini Gin bar set up in a cocktail lounging area. Gin is so on trend right now with a fabulous array of garnishes.

The reason I love styled shoots is the creative freedom to explore new concepts and looks from the best in the industry.
